it's been foreverrrr since i last posted. Lots has happened and it seems that everyday just keeps going by faster and faster.
So, on the abroad front... I am no longer going to France. The application process for the program I was going through didn't work out so well, so I decided to re-adjust my plans. I am now going to AUSTRALIA!!! I am so so excited. I really think I am making the right choice now, because there is not one day I have second guessed myself. I am so excited to go somewhere where I can be outside, experience a new climate and culture and the wildlife there is crrrrazy amazing. The one thing I think I want to do most is get certified to go scuba diving, so that I can scuba on the great barrier reef. Even just typing that sentence I feel like I am in a fairytale... it is going to be amazing. So yeah exciting times coming up...
Right now however I am about to be drowning in school work. My classes seemed so easy at the beginning of the semester, but I have come to find that all of them are ridiculously demanding. For two of them I have responses due at least twice a week and for Hinduism (definetly my hardest class) I have a quiz everyday in class on the reading. It crazy but I really have been enjoy that class, it is really interesting to learn about a religion/ culture where there is more to life than material items and petty worrying. The simple act of breathing can change a person's day and I think that is extraordinary.
On that note, when I am in Australia I am looking to find something more to life. I have been struggling this semester in trying to find meaning in what I am doing here. I know it is important to get a good education in order to advance my future (blah blah blah) but isn't it important to value other things? I know what I am writing probably sound cliche or whatever, but I am truly hoping to find something in myself. The partying and drinking scene here at smc has really started to wear me down- people just get wayyy to crazy and say things that they don't mean. I am just getting tired of that being the revolving motive in order to have fun. I am not saying I dont want to party anymore (anyone who knows me knows that I like to have a good time), but I am just saying that it is definitely taking a toll on me this semester and it will be great to have a break.
Anyways, longggg post but it has been a while and a lot has happened (obviously i left a ton out) but I am going to try and update more before I leave for Australia and definitely while I am there!
Here is a picture of my friends hannah, nicole and I during one of our parties. It was a cinco de mayo theme (my fav holiday) and it was definitely one of the best nights of my semester!
Until next time... ya are what you eat.

Bingham falls adventure
Soooo... Yesterday Kirsten and I went to Bingham falls which is in Stowe. We were planning on going on a more strenuous hike, but the weather was kind a shitty and kirst was a liiiiiitle bit hung ovs. Anyways Bingham falls is pretty much a nature trail that goes through a series of waterfalls. The waterfalls aren't huge (you'll see in the pics) like the ones I went to in Puerto Rico with the college swim team, but they are pretty cool to sit by and just look at. As we walked down the path we noticed how green everything was, it was awesome. Usually there are a lot of people on the trail, but since it wasn't so nice out we had it all to ourselves it was awesome!
We noticed this really cool tree (above) that had the craziest trunk/ roots, it kind of looks like an animal don't you think? Sorry for the formatting issues, I hope I get better bc the page kind of looks a little out of wack, but ohh well, not a computer person at allll. Anyways the trail is pretty flat for a little bit, then you go down a rock stairway that is pretty steep, and right now since its been raining it was really slippery. We hobbled our way down and came around the corner to see....
The Falls! I know it doesn't look that big in the pic, but it seems a lot bigger in person, and it makes the most amazing sound. I could sit there for hours and just listen, its so soothing. When we got there we hopped down onto the rocks closer to the water and we saw this puddle.
I think it looks like an elephant... kirsten thought it kind of looked like a seal (i didn't see it)... what do you think? Anyways after hanging out there and looking around, taking pics we headed back up to the car
There's us! not the best pic. When we got back to the car we went up the road a little to check out the mountain and it was SO SAD. The chairlifts were dead and there was no one there... guess thats what you get for living in a ski town. Anyways, thats all for now!

First week of Summahhhh
Soooo, this is my first blog.ever. I have never even really read them before (i have read my friend Olivia's tumblr but i dont think that is the same). Anyways, yeah I am Sammy, I live in Waterbury Center, VT which is really close to Stowe where the ski resort is. I have always wanted to get as far away from here as possible, but ever since I transferred colleges back to Saint Michael's I have been loving VT. Minus the snow in April/ May everything here has been amazing. I have meet an awesome group of people at school, who I unfortunately will be leaving in August to Study Abroad in Grenoble France (in the Alps!! woot woot).
But yeah last week was pretty sad leaving the good old smc, i dont think i will ever find somewhere where i feel so connected to everyone, its amazing. So, now i am at home again... i've been pretty bored, but things are starting up pretty soon. I ran around like a maniac trying to get all my abroad stuff done at the beginning of this week, so that kept me busy. I have also been running between 3 and 4 miles a day, which has also been keeping me pretty active. I am planning on doing a mini-triathlon at the end of July in Shelburne VT, so I gotta keep my fitness up! haha I am also trying to take summer classes which should be interesting, aaaand i have two jobs! Neither of them have started, but i am pretty excited about them both. I am working at the Swimming Hole again (health club in stowe) teaching the little ones to swim and i am also the assistant coach for the swim team there. My other job is working as a hostess at a Mexican restaurant called the cactus cafe, which should be really fun bc i have never done it before. I am pretty excited for that one too, bc i can wear cute clothes! haha but yeah, thats pretty much all for now. I am going on a hiking/ nature adventure with my friend Kirsten tomorrow, so I will probs dobs post some pics of that! Seeee yahhh
